Event: Richard III at the Globe

Wow! I hit one hundred views!

The Globe Theater was amazing. I got a slightly obstructed seat and paid extra for a cushion- well worth it. I was in the third row, and could see most of the stage.

I have mixed feelings about the play. Some of the actors, including the lead, were difficult to understand. The costumes were strange. Some of them were Elizabethan, but with gym shoes. Some were modern. Some were just weird. It was a distraction. At first, I wasn't crazy about the music, but about halfway through I saw that it worked. There were also dance numbers at the beginning and end, which is odd for a tragedy. I didn't dislike the play, but it was not a favorite.

I had a very nice dinner at the Swan, the restaurant attached to the Globe. The high tea looked very good, too.

London is crazy busy this weekend! Taylor Swift is in town, and I think it is Pride Weekend.
