Site: Highgate Cemetary and Kenwood House

I walked way too much today! I though Highgate and Kenwood House were much closer together.

Highgate was fascinating. I took a tour, which was very good. Lots of uphill, downhill and uneven paths, though. I saw Karl Marx's  and Douglas Adams' graves. I left a pen at Adams' grave. Someone left Mao's Little Red Book at Marx's.

Then the walk to Kenwood House. The Hampstead area is surprisingly hilly. I did get to see a little of the area. I found an adorable bakery for lunch. I also saw some of Hampstead Heath. I finally made it to Kenwood House. It is beautiful and has some lovely art, including a Vermeer.

Now I'm off to have a Sunday roast!

The Library

I saw this on my walk to the Tube station.

I finished off the weekend with a Sunday roast at a pub in Islington called The Old Queen's Head with some of our librarian group. The building was amazing and so was the sticky toffee pudding.
