Site: Lbertopolis Walking Tour
Description: Brief history of the Kensington area and its museums

I had lunch at SushiDog, which is an Austalian chain making Japanese food in the London? Anyway, I had a tofu bowl, which was very good and probably healthy.
After lunch, several of us headed to Daunt Books, which is beautiful and has a wonderful collection. We ran into more members of our group there. What else can you except from a group of librarians? I bought myself a book and some stationary. I also bought a Christmas present, I'm not telling who for!

Our afternoon event was a walking tour of the Kensington area. Our tour guide started by telling us a little of the history of the London Underground. It was started in 1860 and was the first underground transportation system in the world. The trains were originally pulled by steam engines, which made for hot riding conditions.

There are several major museums in Kensington, dating back to the Great Exhibition of 1850. Prince Albert, Victoria's consort, was involved in their creation, leading to the little-used nickname for the area, LBertopolis. The musuems include the Victoria and Albert, the Science Museum, and the Natural History Museum. The Imperial College is also in the area. All of these projects were designed to create educational opportunities.

I had fish and chips for dinner at a pub called Caxton's Head after the designer of the Great Exhibition.
